Conservationists and Conversationalists everywhere should be thrilled.
Freshman Congresswoman from the Bronx, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, is a gift for those who believe in economy of language.
“AOC” is now shorthand for everything so absurd as to be beyond belief.
“For Eg” (terminology used by her in the “New Green Deal” intended to mean “for example”) “that propsal is “AOC.”
When referring to someone in conversation as lacking measurable intelligence just say “AOC.”
Witness someone engaging in idiotic behavior point and say “AOC.” (No eye roll required.)
In any instance where the words absurd, asanine, crazy, dimwit, dunce, idiot, ignoramous, inane, insane, insipid, laughable, mad, moron, nuts, ridiculous, silly, stupid, stupidity, stupidly, supercilious,and wacko, were once used, simply substitute “AOC.”
There is a serious side to this however. Many of those on the Left and within the Democrat Party, (which these days pretty much equates to the same thing) the MSM, and uneducated Yutes (See “My Cousin Vinny”) “across the fruited plain” take her and her proposals seriously.
They actually believe it’s possible to replace Air travel with Trans Atlantic Rail (for those who are “AOC”, that means building a Railway with tracks that float on the Ocean or laying tracks underneath it) and that it’s actually possible to ban “Cow Farts.”
They also believe it’s possible to subsidize those “unable or unwilling to work” (see “The New Green Deal“) and maintain a viable Economy.
Concepts that any rational human being would have previously rejected, a large percentage of the Country will publicly support.
Look for polls in the next few days to verify this.
The threat posed by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her “New Green Deal” cannot be dismissed out of hand, we must combat it by every possible means. Failure to do so would make all of us “AOC!”

I had thought that, because it was an all-capital-case acronym, that, that was the reason the left out the comma afte the A. I had believed it stood for, Asshole, Of Course. Now I realise how stupid I was, but maybe not as much of an imbecile as Alexandrina Occasional-Cortex.

She won in a solidly Democrat District that a Republican hasn’t held in decades. Her achievement if thats what you choose to call it, was defeating well known Democrat incumbent Joe Crowley who was being looked at as a possible Speaker of the house if the Democrats took control.

No, her constituents, right and left, despise the “trendies”. They voted for her for the same reason many former Buckley chums voted for Obama. Obamacons included: Susan Eisenhower, granddaughter of Dwight; Colin Powell; Christopher Buckley, son of National Review founder William; former Massachusetts Governor Bill Weld. Jeffrey Hart is the Obamacon most pleased with his choice, and he is anxious to see the president rewarded with a second term. He did not simply swallow his vote as if it were bad medicine; he argues positively that a true conservative has no choice but to help elect Obama again. The truth regarding the election of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is that in the primary where she beat the Incumbent only 29,000 out of more than 200,000 registered Democrats bothered to vote.

The district was butchered in redistricting – ironically that’s why Crowley cut his own throat.
Denis Shea 1992 and Serf Maltese 1984 got 45% in the same district.
