For all practical purposes, the Senate has been on hiatus for the last eight years. Thanks to the dubious wisdom of former Senator Reid, a supermajority is unnecessary. A simple majority will suffice.

I sympathize with Christine Ford’s plight, and her pain. I also believe that Brett Kavanaugh deserves to confront, and be confronted by his accuser. Given that Judge Kavanaugh has been investigated numerous times throughout his career, and that this is the first hint of impropriety, the matter must proceed with all due speed.

This man’s future and reputation hangs in the balance. His accuser must either step forward into the light of day, or withdraw and allow the process to continue.

If 51 votes was good enough for Senator Reid, it’s good enough for me. Show some backbone, Mitch!
